What if God had a Linkedin Account?
The notion of God having a Linkedin account is fun in theory, but the practicality of your own LinkedIn presence could open the gateway for your next career change.
God’s Linkedin Account
The notion of God having a LinkedIn account is comical. For one, he literally wrote the bible which is like his whole story and essence. It describes exactly who he is, with detail even if it includes some hard to say words and places we do not know about. However, you can imagine some of the bullet points.
Took Earth and Humanity from concept to production in 6 days
Stripped Earth and Humanity down to barebones and rebuilt it over 40 days through use of hydroponics.
Counselor of Every King & Grassroots Leader There Ever Was
Beat the devil every time he tried to intervene
Best Gift Ever Given (Take That Santa!)
You get the point. God has credentials and every right to show off for them. However, it does beg the question. Would we even know about those credentials and qualifications if he never put it out there for us to read about?
We can also compare this to our own lives and career. The story of your life, if we covered it in detail, would probably make for a very long book. Yet, when we meet other people, we are not granted with the ability or time to know every facet of their lives. We typically get the highlight reel and make judgements based on what we hear and learn.
This has happened in your career time and time again. Whether you are just starting out, or have been working for 20+ years, judgements are made whether you like it or not.
Our recommendation here is if you are going to be judged any way for any online presence. You might as well have one that features you in the most professional and best light that you can control. The relevant platform for this at the moment is Linkedin.
The average time it takes to go from account creation to a complete basic profile is roughly 30-40 minutes. You can expect to invest more time (few hours) if you decide to go down the path of an in-depth profile and adding every certification and accomplishment you have ever had.
Although by taking the half hour to create your basic profile you can establish a few things.
A landing page which features your face next to your preferred headline
Your opportunity to control your own 2-3 sentence professional narrative.
A common platform which becomes familiar with all business people.
Instant ability to create professional connections with those you know and don’t know yet, unlocking the keys to the hidden job market.
If you want to know what your ROI potential is on making a Linkedin Account. Investing in yourself instead of watching one more episode of your favorite show could return you a six figure job one day. As for the ROI of never making one… I don’t believe there is one. Make one today and just try your best.
